Well, is there a specific problem that we should look for? In the device manager I can see there is a problem but I uninstall drivers but cant get it to work. Then run a Windows Update to see if there is anything else that needs to be updated on your system.

alimtype I have done a recovery, a regedit in the upper filters, and chat support with no solution. How satisfied are you with this reply? Historically, it stopped working several days ago, magically started again and then went away. Attempting to update the driver from Device Manager gives me the notice that the most up to date driver is already installed.
My computer says that the dvd player is working properly, howerver, it will not read a dvd of any kind when I put it in. Does anyone have dfd ideas? Also, what are the troubleshooting methods that you have already tried?

I have the same drive that Ps KimS has, but with a slightly different problem. Here is a link that will walk you through the steps to clear the filters. Hi Robyn, I had the same problem in my Toshiba laptop.
I have attempted to teach myself the intricacies of editing the system registry, however I am uncomfortable continuing on this path, as my proficiency in this area zlimtype lacking, and I don’t want to complicate matters if that step is unnecessary. You can clear the upper and lower registry values.

The “built in” recovery using f11 only freezes the laptop.
I have also ran hardware diagnostics SiSoft Sandra to make sure that everything is ok. Do you already have an account? I have manually uninstalled drivers and rebooted, at which juncture the drives are reinstalled with no difference in condition.
